For Fans of the Original LittleBigPlanet and platformers such as Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong & Vectorman this isn't a game that is to be missed. Writers note: I've been playing this for almost a week now, haven't put it down…its been so fun to have all my LBP1 items collected at my disposal all over again, while earning new one's is still just as fun!
The story starts with an inter-dimensional vacuum cleaner appears over the skies of LittleBigPlanet and begins to suck up its inhabitants, including Sackboy. Larry Da Vinci, the leader of a semi-secret semi-group group known as "The Alliance", comes to Sackboy's rescue saving him from what they call "The Negativitron." The group is dedicated to battling with "The Negativitron" and defeating it before it destroys the world.
This game is Incredible, the 2 1/2D environments look crisp and with 4 player co-op in any aspect of any level it's also a blast to play. The players aren't just restricted to making platformers however, you can make racers, RPG's, shooters, or puzzle games. With new level editing tools you can really show those dramatic moments in your own level with a music sequencer, or show off intense moments with personal camera angles, while your past levels created in LBP1 can be continued and linked together with something new created in LBP2.
The online community for LBP2 has been much improved and now has an online page for all the fans of the series (LBP.me) where players sync up their PSN ID's to look at their existing level's, friends, check stats, trophies. While at this moment of writing over 3,600,000 user created levels combined from LBP1 & LBP2 are available at the players disposal I honestly think it you would be hard pressed to get bored anytime soon.
Overall Rating: 5/5
Level Design - Wether the player is playing besides themselves, or with friends all the bounce pads and fun puzzles the levels are pretty and entertaining to look at.
5/5
Replay-ability - While not all levels are the best of the bunch, this game continues to put out new content at an alarming rate. New costumes are available every tuesday on the PSN store to keep players entertained and to keep them coming back.
5/5
Controls - While loving this game all the same, this is the main area where most players have the problem with LittleBigPlanet. The controls should be a little more responsive, especially when one of your goals in the game is to "Ace" levels…complete levels without dying or using a checkpoint, I cannot count the times I've got sooo close to completing stages a had a slip-up where my character should've grappled or jumped and it just missed the spot.
