Krypto DIES?! The Story Behind the Name!

SO many times, I've had people ask me why I HATE Krypto SO much as to name my website after his fatal misfortune. Well, dear readers, fear not! I have not an ounce of hatred in my soul for the canine companion of Superman! In fact, the case is quite the opposite! "Krypto Dies" is about HONORING Krypto! I wrote and presented a paper over the use of animals in comics, anthropomorphic animals, and superhero companions for San Diego Comic Con 2010. In my research, I found Krypto the Superdog. Deeper in, I found that Krypo lost his life in Alan Moore's "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" when the Kryptonite Man tried to kill Superman. Krypto rushed in and ripped out his throat knowing that Kryptonite was just as deadly to himself as it was to Superman. My website is named in honor of his devotion and sacrifice. Any animal who would defend his master to the death, in my opinion, deserves a website named after him!
