Interview with Kirstan Perry (Kaitlin) of Anti-Matter Show!

If you've been reading for long, you'll know that I love me some Anti-Matter Show! Search "Anti-Matter Show" on the left to be caught up on my reviews!  I first encountered these guys at New York Comic Con (by means of flyers and word of mouth). Through the convention, I had the extreme honor of interviewing Kirstan Perry who play Kaitlin! Enjoy!

How do you feel about playing such a witty, spunky character?
LOVE!!!

Are you anything like Kaitlin is (outside of the show/cast, that is)? Um, yes. especially the burrito part. I love a burrito and it's always nice to live in a boy-dominated world and be able to put them in their place. Hehehe. . . plus I like being able to represent all of the girls out there who love comics and are starting to really make their presence known!

Suppose you can't be Kaitlin. Gender differences aside, what character would you most like to play and why?
Jeremy, played by Devram Stiefler (played pitch perfect might I add). Jeremy is a fireball of trouble completely indulgent in his adolescent side. He gets to act out and is super funny (these are clearly my thoughts not Kaitlin's. he annoys the crap out of her).

What's your favorite thing about being part of the Anti-Matter cast?I loved going to NY Comic Con with everyone! Interviewing and meeting real artists was pretty rad!

Exactly how nerdy are you in real life? :) Do you have any favorite comics or video games? What's the nerdiest moment of your life?
I would consider myself a pretty big geek undercover in real life, On the surface you can't quite tell how deep my geek goes. It goes deep. I love fantasy stuff. Pretty much anything with knights, dragons and magic etc. I grew up reading Elf Quest and watching my cousins play D&D in the their basement. Currently I'm reading the books A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. They are amazing! I don't think I've reached my nerdiest moment in life yet. I'm still working up to it. Hopefully it will happen soon, fingers crossed!

Random Geekery: "Anti-Matter" Show Episode #5!!

I have a new hero. Her name is Kaitlin and she's all about kicking some guy ass using that giant brain of hers! Seriously, though. I LOVED Episode #5 of "Anti-Matter" simply because it's nice to see a girl put so many guys in their place! Hahaha. I know, I know. I sound like some feminist but here's the thing: I'm not. Swear to Thor! Kaitlin is just what all geek girls strive to be. I don't want to give away anything, so I can't really say much. What I AM going to say is that I enjoyed this episode of "Anti-Matter" because of the humor. It was tied into the skit in a clever, sneaky way. Way to go, guys! Show=SUCCESS! Here's a shout-out to my buddy Chris Walker! I believe in what you're doing and you have my support 100%! Just keep it up, ok? <3

Random Geekery: "Anti-Matter" Show!

I've got a special treat for you guys today. :) I was contacted about this gem of a show a while back but because I write most of my reviews in advance a few days, I had to cycle through the ones I had built up. Are you ready? It's "Anti-Matter"! "Anti-Matter" is, according to the e-mail I recieved,:

"...A new comedic web series that follows the antics of a New York City comic shop. It was created by Chris Walker, comic fan and Marvel colorist turned filmmaker, and features an ensemble cast, many of whom are regulars at Upright Citizen’s Brigade.

Jeff Parker (HULK, THUNDERBOLTS) had this to say. 'Treat it like fiction if you want, but this is pretty dead on what it's like behind the scenes at our nation's major comics shops. Which... explains a lot, actually.'"

According to the official website,

"In the tradition of 'Cheers', 'The Office' and 'Friends', comes Anti-Matter, a workplace and family of friends comedy which takes a playful life in the comic shop!

Set in a comic book store, Anti-Matter features the zany often hilarious hijinks that happen with the staff and the idiosyncratic regulars of a NY comic book shop who treat the store more like a clubhouse than a place of business.
Through the exploits of the staff and regulars Anti-Matter serves as a hilarious gateway for audiences to laugh as a surprising number of life’s events occur in the shop."

According to me, it's AWESOME. I've watched the most recent episode and, as soon as I share this bit of epic with the world, I'll be going back to watch the previous ones. "Anti-Matter" is hilarious. What makes it so hilarious is that it's very easy to relate to and true-to-life. Even if you're not into comic books or geek culture, a great show is a great show.

I hear Chris loves my site. Love right back at ya, Chris. :)
