Get Ready: "The Devil's Pool" Is Coming!!

Never before have I been so excited for the "little guy", so to say. In reviewing, it's easy to get caught up in "the bigs"....Marvel...DC...Dark Horse...on and on. But I think it's important to remember that every concept, story, movie, drama...it all starts somewhere. That's why I'm super excited to share "The Devil's Pool" with you! My immediate question about TDP was "What's special about it?". Not to sound like a jerk...but I really like to dissect a comic/graphic novel and find the unique. In an amazingly fast growing industry, it's easy to get caught up in a whirlpool of "ho hum". I must say...
I'm not worried about that. Why? I mean... I haven't even laid eyes on any of it. Besides an intriguing plot and storyline and some preview artwork, what do I have to go by? Creation process. As an artist (or so I try), TDP is unlike any graphic work I've ever seen. I've found this video from the crew's Kickstarter page, and I think it'll explain better than I can.
Why am I so excited about this? Not only is it set locally to where I grew up, but I know it addresses a lot of issues the people there face. It examines human nature and desire and moral and generally gives you a lot to think about. To me, this has as much potential as The Walking Dead. It's got the aspects that suck people in and make them examine themselves. This isn't always easy to do...but the fact that we're not looking at a fancy superhero and all his money and vengeance issues (I still love you, B-Man!) makes it easier. The heros are real people with real internal conflict set in the real world. I am beside myself with excitement for what is to come and this will be something I will follow here. Be looking for more from "The Devil's Pool", readers!
