Krypto Dies LOVES WKUK

Last night was AWESOME! It was one of those nights where you know the next day is going to be hell, but you don't care. Not that we went all crazy...but what we did was crazy, in a way. Flash back to three days prior. My best friend blows up my phone saying the Whitest Kids U' Know are coming to Arkansas. Arkansas. ARKANSAS? WHAT? WHY? Doesn't matter. We're going. I don't think there was even a sliver of doubt in Molly's mind as to IF we were going. I think we would have started walking the minute she got their tweet, if we had to. The last time we did something this crazy, it was the MC Chris show. Logic has no place in our minds when it comes to the entertainment we love. "We have to drive two hours? As soon as we get off work? Show doesn't start til 8 pm? Lasts until midnight or later? We'll get home at 3 am only to have to go to work at 6 am? I don't see the problem in this!". And the next day....we're easily confused with Walkers (*elbow* get that "Walking Dead" reference? *snicker*). So...anyway...back to the point of the inspiration for this post. I am BLOWN away. I'd never met the guys before last night, but I remember watching them in late middle/early high school. My friends and I would walk around screaming "Get A New Daddy", much to the horror of the elderly onlookers (hehe!). It's mindblowing that I'd ever get to meet them. Of course, for Molly, it was second nature, apparently. :P She's been to a ton of their shows, and they recognize her like family.

And that's what I'm getting at. These guys are big. Not like...Brad Pitt big...but big. They have a loyal fanbase. They're well-known. People recoginize them in public. People mob them. But they still talk to you like an old friend. They're genuine. They repeat your name as if they're trying to remember it when they meet you..and they seem like they truly are. The guys came to do the show (which was AWESOME, by the way! I laughed SO much!!!), and not ONLY did they stay to sign every last autograph and snap every last picture with every last fan...they told the entire audience where they'd be after the show (a pizza joint/bar!).

THEY WENT TO HANG OUT WITH THE FANS AFTER THE SHOW! And they were generous with high-fives, hugs, "thank you so much for coming out"s and they posed for every picture as if they weren't just as, if not more, exhausted than we were. They didn't brush you off just to get through with talking to you so they could move on to not caring about what the next fan said. They listened! These guys are so down-to-earth. They really do remember that without fans, entertainers are nothing. They treat their fans with this in mind, and you can tell they know it. That's my gushing for now! Thanks for an amazing show and the good conversations, guys! <3>
